December 30 – End Of Year + Goals For 2010

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 30 - 2009

This will be my last post of the year I think. Things have been going well the last few days. Have had a few coaching sessions here and there, but standard with the holidays and NYE still coming up. I spent most of Monday getting my video fully finished. It took me about 8hrs total with graphics and all the full stuff…but I’ve been taking a lot more time and paying close attention to detail. My goal with Stox videos is to really take it from being just a boring poker training video and actually make them enjoyable movies that are visually stimulating as well. They hit both the visual and the audio learners that way…and are just really enjoyable to watch imo.

So that video was a critical analysis video on hands I played at 50NL this year, 8 hands to be exact. I think I found some fun spots to talk about ranges and such things and I really focused on hand reading, range analysis, and line consideration. Today, I started on my next video (the one coming out Jan 8 ) which took me way longer than it should have. It took me about 5.5hrs to record a 35minute video, lol. I could not, for the life of me, speak in coherent sentences. The video will be fun…as I did a Stox University video on LAG play and did a big section on some postflop frameworks that I use. Also made and used some sweet graphics for that one…and hopefully I will finish editing and production on it tomorrow. Overall that will be my longest video to create as it will probably take about 15hrs total including script writing, recording, and editing…and all for a 35min video, lol.

Enough about that…everything else is just fine. Just been relaxing mostly and working…writing a bunch of stuff and trying to enjoy the last bit of my vacation before I leave for Vegas again (next Tuesday). I actually got a lil bored today and decided to watch a Rick Mask video from Stox…I will say I was very impressed, though I laughed a bunch of times because he says things in oddly similar ways that I do while im coaching. Like he was talking about reasons to check TT on an AK5 board and it was scary that he listed the exact same reasons that I do with almost the exact same verbiage. I guess its not super odd…but def made me LOL a bit.

Alright, so the real goal of this post is for goals and junk for 2010. So here they are:

1.) at least 500K volume
2.) at least $30K poker profit
3.) make some more vids (8 at the minimum)
4.) work with at least 30 new students
5.) get to Vegas for the series again
6.) play at least 100K hands of 200NL-1KNL
7.) take on a protege
8.) have at least a $65K year

Nothing too hellish, and all very doable. I felt 2009 was a wash to be honest. I am in just barely a better financial situation now than I was a year ago (ok, maybe a few extra $K in the bank account, but not enough that I feel great about it). So I really want to start grinding a little harder. Whether that means getting a job, coaching more, or playing a ton more poker… Of course, I do want to enjoy life as well, but I need to grind hard while im young enough to do so and also without other commitments.

Alright, I’m off to coach and then pass out cuz im tired as hell today. Hope NYE is good for everyone and be safe!

December 28 – Christmas Cliff Notes

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 27 - 2009

So the holiday was a good one. Went down to my mom’s on Xmas eve. My sister got all bent out of shape about the plans for Xmas (divorced family plans that involve multiple meals, other considerations, and multiple states make for some fun stress), so I had to spend the better part of that day trying to calm down and not get worked up. Spent the afternoon just bumming and playing MW2, which I had never played before. The game was entirely different than Halo, totally not colorblind friendly, and a major PITA…but fun overall and a nice way to bum some hours while relaxing.

That night I went with my mom and her BF to his family’s get-together. Super awkward being in a room full of folk I have never met while all of them are blood related. I did have a fun conversation on the ride over. I jokingly asked my mom which profession she would prefer I tell people if/when they asked. I said “because obviously if I say “poker player/coach” they will all assume I am just a degenerate gambler that smashes coke and hookers”. Her BF laughed and she said “don’t laugh, people actually think that”. *sigh*

LOLdegenYO

Xmas went well. I ended up waking up at 7:30a which reminded me of being a young kid again, LOL. Got some good stuff (new monitor, DJ Hero, some gift cards, a rack of sweaters, and some other awesome stuff)…which was good. Then spent most of the morning helping cook and such. The dinner/lunch comprised of all of mom’s BF’s family which was cool…but depressing to be with a whole different family and knowing mine will never really be like that again. Ended up getting out of there around 4 and headed up to NH to see my dad and the lakehouse folk. Did dessert with them, chilled out, and then passed out.

Woke up Saturday with the worst cold ever. My nose just never stopped running so my face is still totally sore for wiping my nose and such. Went out to the stables and took my lil cousin horse riding. He convinced me to go as well which was actually quite fun. My ass is still a tad sore from the trotting, but is what it is. Was a very cool way to spend a Saturday. Got home, bummed and watched some movies…then passed out.

Today I had some students to take care of, so got that all out of the way. Then played video games with my cousin and also opened his new Yahtzee game and played that together. I had forgotten how fun that game is… Played two games of that and then got to work. I got on the Stox calendar for 2 videos in January, but early in the month, so I need to get 2 videos out like ASAP. I think the first video will be a critical analysis (in-depth analysis on a mixture of hands), and the other one will be a Stox university video on planning. That is the goal as it currently lies…so I will wake up tomorrow, finish the critical analysis video and then hopefully nap before another 2 students.

Hope all is well!

December 23 – Almost Xmas…

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 23 - 2009

This year is wrapping up quickly. I swear it feels like this year didn’t even happen. This week has been relaxing. Had 3 students on Monday, one yesterday, and am taking the rest of the week off for the holidays. Had another shortstacking student which was fun…I love the mixup that SSing offers…it just forces you to think about a different strategy that operates under a whole different set of rules and frameworks.

Finished up the rest of my Xmas shopping yesterday. Got wine and/or vodka for pretty much everyone so hopefully they all enjoy it. Then got a few extra video games for my cousin, because I didn’t think a bottle of Goose was quite appropriate for a 9yr old, lol. Feels good to be done with that. Saw Carrie last night and gave her her bottles and hopefully they will be good. I cant drink wine due to my grape allergy, so I just take advice from friends/family on what is good v bad. O well…is what it is.

wine bottles

Got back this morning and am about to go out help my dad finish his shopping. Also spent some time this morning discussing a software creation with a 2p2r. I have this cool idea for software but no skills myself…so hopefully he can help me get this off the ground. Either way it is cool trying to train my brain to think like a computer in logic statements, lol. Also, in case you didn’t see, “The Tank” page is finally put up. I will be running the first one on Jan 7th…but check the post to get more information.

Hope all is well with everyone and happy holidays in case I don’t get back to this until after Xmas.

December 20 – “The Tank” Is Coming

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 20 - 2009

For some odd reason I keep waking up at 9:23am every single day…like…to the exact minute. Not really sure why, but it has happened for 4 days in a row. Hopefully that doesn’t hold true tomorrow as I have a student at 9a, lol. I am super tired right now but wanted to write a blog post none the less.

Woke up at 9:23a this morning and bummed around for a little bit. My dad made this awesome egg dish that we had never had before and made for a great breakfast. Finally got moving around 1p and went over to GameStop to get some Xmas shopping done. My little cousin has been on my case about losing my version of NFL Blitz for original Xbox (the only video game system other than Wii at my dad’s place). Sadly this GameStop didn’t have it, but I got a variety of games that I hope he will like (including NFL Street, which I hope is like Blitz). I actually just plugged the Xbox in tonight to my computer so I can play + listen to music + 2p2 all at the time same time. Sadly, the place didn’t have Halo 1 or 2 either, so no Xbox Live shooting for me =(

Got back, did 2 sessions, and then finished up some work work. Also started getting stuff together for “The Tank” (the new tab in case you haven’t noticed yet =) ). It will effectively be a group session led by me, with max 8 students. It should be good and the few people I showed the banner and stuff to seemed interested in it. Because the session won’t be 1-on-1 I will be charging a fraction of the price I normally charge, and also will do 1.5hr sessions rather than 1hr sessions. So we shall see how it goes. I am going to run 2 practice sessions at a discounted price after the holidays, get feedback, and then hopefully live launch after that. I think the “beta” sessions will go for like $35/person/session, and we will obviously run it longer if technical issues or w/e happen. I’ll drop more information on that page in the next few days after I hammer out some details, and suggestions are moooooooore than welcome =)

Alright, just wanted to write something. Hopefully the holidays are going well!

Playing LAG: Loose Aggressive Poker

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 20 - 2009

One of the bigger things I get when I work with people is the consideration of breaking into LAG play. LAG play, for those unaware, is notation for a “loose aggressive” player. There are tremendous differences between TAG and LAG players, but the common misconceptions of LAG players are what make it, in my opinion, the most profitable style in today’s micro games.

So other than the textbook definition, what is a LAG? A LAG is simply a TAG on steroids. A LAG plays more hands, they play them more aggressive, and because of this, must be solid on more levels. It is important to emphasize this…because LAG play is NOT for everyone. If you do not have your fundamentals down, if you do not understand most spots you get into, if you cannot quickly come up with an optimal, or near-optimal, line…then LAG is not for you. If you are not a winning TAG player, there is no chance you will be a successful LAG. A LAG is a solid player that understands situations, adjustments, and the ’secret’ ingredient that makes him successful, well-timed pressure.

Pressure is why this style is successful. When talking about pressure, it is important to note that the most amount of pressure can be placed while in position. Just the threat of putting a bet out makes most opponents play differently against us (us will now refer to LAGs), and usually in a more passive way. Because of that, LAGs will focus, even more heavily than a TAG does, on positional play. Everything is based on position to a LAG. Here is a positional heatmap by position by player type:

From SplitSuit Drop Box

(the darker the color = the more hands played)

You see LAGs focus everything on LP play, with heavy emphasis in the CO and button. This doesn’t vary at all from TAGs, as TAGs are very positionally aware and ramp up how many hands they play as they get closer to the button. But LAGs take this a step further and start adding more hands a bit sooner, and also add even more hands from the CO and button. A TAG might only steal 35%, while a LAG is constantly focused on pressuring every edge and may be stealing around 60%. This is your first step in transitioning to a LAG…you don’t just randomly jump from 13/11 to 20/18…you ease into it and get used to playing more hands, adding initially on the button, then the CO, then the HJ, etc.

The second part about pressure is actually why this style is so successful now a days, and even more so, at the micros. This is because the average player is better, and now understands not to make 200bb pots with 2nd pair…they understand folding in the SB and not over defending and getting into tough spots OOP…they understand not getting involved in too large a pot with single pairs. It is that same knowledge that allows LAGs to thrive. If players are folding at a certain threshold, then all a LAG player needs to do is pressure to that exact threshold to get folds. A LAG operates successfully in a fold-rich environment…and today’s games (where the tables have about 70% of people per table with a vpip of 15% or less) are perfect for it given the “standard threshold” players share.

Talking about players for a moment…let’s cover which tables are best. If you are playing 25% of your hands, and raising almost all of them…which tables do you think you are going to the best at? One where lots of pots are going multi-way? Or a table where lots of pots are going HU? Of course you would want the HU pots table. In a MW pot you are forced to have hands, and forced to hit hands in order to profit. In a HU pot you can apply more pressure, win with no hand, and get involved more often. Because of this you want tighter tables. I know many players that don’t play during the day-time because the games are filled with nitRegs and 24 tabling HUDbots…but why is this bad? If those players are just going to set-mine and thus fold 85% of the time postflop, why not take advantage of that? If they are going to play super face-up…why not abuse them for that? I prefer very tight tables when I am LAGing…something like 5%-15% table vpip and no real pressure spots.

Having other pressure spots on your table will make your LAG life hell. These pressure spots are people who don’t just roll over and play dead postflop, good shortstackers, and aggressive 3b’rs. Why? Good shortstackers will adjust and reship on you often preflop, esp when you steal against them. They get enough folds from your range if you have a 60% ATS (your O-range is 60% of hands, your C-range is like 10% of hands, so they get folds 83% of the time and make mega-profit from you). The aggressive 3b’rs will ruin your flow at the table, show other people that you aren’t invincible (which then creates a table dynamic where even 12/10 nitTAGs are trying to 3ball you), and put you in tough spots. The other player type will just float you often postflop (either in a value or float/bluff way) and will not just roll over to your aggression. Remember, a LAG operates best in a fold-rich environment…if a table isn’t giving that to you, then get off it and find any of another 400 tables that will.

One of the things that helped me play LAG was looking into my TAG game. I found the situations that made me shudder while playing TAG. If I faced a raise on a certain board, and hated life because of it, I noted it. If I hated certain turn cards, I noted it. While transitioning into a LAG I took all of these spots that made TAG-me shudder…and applied them. If I as a TAG, say 13/12, hated a certain spot…why wouldn’t 90% of other TAGs feel the same way? This helped give me a framework for looking at pressure situations and learning how to explore new ones while implementing them into my own game.

* * * * * *

I’ve mentioned a few times that fundamentals are way more important while playing LAG. In saying that, it should also be noted that your misunderstandings will be amplified, as the situation will arise more often. So if you CB poorly, then seeing that spot more often is going to burn you more money. If you don’t double barrel well, then you are going to be less profitable postflop. Again, if you cannot play a TAG style well, then adding more spots postflop is just going to murder your WR.

Let’s talk about postflop for a minute. There are some very important things to consider when moving into LAG play and playing more than just a preflop game. We already talked about where to add more hands when playing LAG (LP) and we do that in an effort to steal more preflop and also set ourselves up to be in position for postflop decisions. Of course, unless we are on the button, we will not always be in position…but poker is all about taking high probability set ups…so do your best to get that button.

The big thing I suggest to people is playing LAG preflop and TAG postflop. A TAG game postflop should be very solid at CB-ing, have a decent handle on dubbing, and should understand VB-ing well. A lot of people think that LAG play means you have to play like a damn nutball postflop…running complex bluffs, VB-ing 3rd pair, and mastering the over-bet shove. This is pure poppycock, and again, another reason why people play poorly against LAGs. Keep your standard postflop game while LAGing, but pay more attention to pressure.

It should go without saying that your range postflop will be inherently weaker. If you are playing 40% of hands from the button, you will not be hitting stronger hands very often. Your most standard hand strength will be air, then weak 1 pairs…so you have to be able to play these hands well. It should also be noted that your value hands should actually get paid a bit better, but not in a crazy way. It is more standard that if you run LAG in 6max that you can get crazy value with something like KJ on a K6344 board from any pair….but in FR, people still maintain their hand strength thresholds. What I mean by this is that people have an ingrained threshold of pot size per hand strength. They understand that they want to make AI pots with nut hands, maybe 40bb pots with 1pair, maybe 90bb with 2pr on scary boards, etc (these are just random numbers…the real numbers are different and change by player type).

These thresholds are actually what allow LAGs to have easy lives postflop. Once a LAG understands where a players threshold is with TP, then postflop is a breeze. Say we are playing against PAUL555, and PAUL555 doesn’t make a pot bigger than 35bb with TPTK. This means, as a LAG, we are focused on making, or threatening, a 36bb pot everytime we bluff. Why should we make a 40bb pot? Or threaten a 55bb pot if we only need the pot size to be/look like 36bb? Exposure is very important while LAGing…it is important while bluffing to look like you are exposing a large part of your stack and creating or threatening a large pot. A big leak of new LAGs is that they over expose themselves and would make a 65bb pot against PAUL555 as a bluff, when that is just too large and a waste of time and money. Pay attention to your exposure through your betsizing and planning of the hand, and exploit a players threshold to apply correct pressure.

* * * * * *

Common misconceptions:

People hear loose and assume bad, they hear tight and assume good. Do not confuse a LAG with a spewy loose player. A LAG is a finely tuned machine that understands pressure, position, and adjustment…a fish is a player that is too loose and doesn’t have an off switch. It is actually this misconception that helps LAGs make money. People will call your 3b’s OOP with hands like AJ and 44 because they think you are crazy and that you are going to spew a stack if they hit. Remember this…it is important.

People also assume your PF range is wider than it is, especially from EP. Look back to the heatmap…do you see a high concentration of hands being played from EP? Be aware of position, don’t put yourself OOP if you can help it.

People also assume that you do not adjust. They think if you have an ATS of 80% over the first 30 hands at the table that you will remain that way the entire session. If the table starts approaching you differently, it is time to change what you are doing. You can do this by tightening up and letting your image play for you, by out aggressing, or by leaving the table.

* * * * * *

Some last minute notes on getting into LAG play. Some stats will change dramatically from TAG to LAG. Your VPIP and PFR will of course get looser and higher. You will notice your flopCB% will drop. If you were CBing 80% of the time as a LAG you would get killed in the longrun. Remember, people adjust to a certain extent, especially while the pot is smaller. So they will call your CB’s a little more liberally on certain board textures. You will also notice that your fold23b% will drop as well. You are stealing more, and it is important that you learn how to defend better when you get 3b. This will be my a mixture of 4b-ing, flatting and using position, and/or leaving the table.

I cannot stress enough how important position is. I’ve seen countless players try to get into LAG and they start by raising 22+/ATB/someSC from EP and go nuttier from there. They try to call a bunch of raises with SCs/SGs/Ax hands. These are people that are missing the big picture. Set yourself up for good profitable spots preflop, and we do that by using position with good playable hands or using spots where we can grab position.

Do not make mistakes! Easier said than done, but if you are making mistakes, your WR is going to suffer quickly. Because these spots show up so much more often, it is imperative that you either have few/no mistakes…or that you are very quick at finding and patching them. You will make less mistakes if you focus on position, VB-ing well, thinking through ranges, and exposure. LAG is still super simple poker because it is still poker. You just play a few more hands, apply a little more pressure, and make a little more money.

Good luck getting into LAG. Like usual, this is a guide and more of a “here are things to think about” rather than “here are the exact ranges and exact plays to use”. I apologize for those that will read this and hate that I didn’t make charts and such…but I assure you…put in some hours and you will grow a ton more from it. Best of luck on the tables, and stay off mine =)

Cliff Notes:

1.) learn to be a solid TAG before you start playing LAG
2.) position is 90x more important
3.) look for spots to apply pressure
4.) evaluate and adjust always
5.) leave the table if conditions become less ideal

(for those interested, I made a video showing a little of this LAG playstyle…Enjoy!)

December 19 – Finished Another Video

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 19 - 2009

So my workation (a vacation in which you still work, ldo) is going quite well. Finished up my coaching on Thursday and took Friday off because I had originally planned to go pick up my sister from college that day. That plan changed and I ended up using Friday to to record a session for my Stox video coming out in a week or so. The first session was meh (made a really awful play with bottom pair in a 3b pot against a good player that I think I over-thought badly) and the second session came out much better with some good spots and good tables.

From SplitSuit Drop Box

(my stats for the 4-tabling video…though I really wasn’t trying to LAG…it just happened =) )

Ended up going out on Friday night with some family and family friends down in Manchester. Hit up a bar and quickly realized how much of a light-weight I have become, lol. I think I only had 6 beers and then I decided it would be best to relax and water down. *sigh*. College-me would be ashamed. Had a good time though as they had live music that kicked out some classics and it was nice to see some people that I hadn’t seen in quite some time. And all of these people are very cool and supportive with what I do for a living, and very curious in a non-judgemental way…which makes for some fun conversation.

Woke up today and had lunch with my Uncle and Abdul. Bummed around for the morning then finished my video up. I decided to do audio after the session rather than live…so it was a first for that. I think the video came out pretty well as I spent some serious time hammering out some floating concepts and also a metagame spot where I looked at the range heavily. I think I may have spent a little too much time on the metagame hand (an over-bet shove spot), but I think it worked well. Hopefully the video gets the reviews that my “Expert HUD” video did (4.7/5 over 22 votes I believe)

I am probably going to go lay down for a bit before dinner. I am super tired today and have some students and sessions to do tomorrow…so I need to be awake. Hope all is well with everyone =)

December 15 – I Hope I Am Not Getting Sick

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 15 - 2009

I feel like absolute fucking hell today. I can never tell if I am getting sick here because I do not know if I am just plugged up because I have allergies. I am also tired as hell because I am on “short” sleep the last few days, and I have been working fairly hard. Regardless, I hope it goes away quickly. But enough complaining from me…

The last few days have been really good. I went down to see Carrie on Sunday, which was probably the worst day to do it given the damn weather. It started snowing about an hour before I left and the highways were terrible by the time I got on them. I think I fishtailed about twice while driving, and it only got better as the snow turned to sleet and then rain and then the roads started getting slippery as hell. Finally got there, and then had to endure the 2hr ride back on iced roads in the morning for my 9a student. *sigh*

Only had 2 students on Monday, but had my Stox video launch and also my COTW got released. So my entire day was spent answering questions and reading reviews. It was fun though and kept me busy. I still haven’t finished my next video for Stox yet, but have a few ideas and will scrap one of them together. Then had another 3 students today, and have another 3 tomorrow. I am also going up to visit my sister at school tomorrow which should be good. And then the rest of the week is just work and such.

I also started to look at apartments today. Still a little early, but figured I would start pricing out some areas. I am moving back east at some point in the next few months and don’t want to be a bum. It amazes me that people will live in some of the areas they do…people just let living expenses drain them. O well, I will figure out something and go on from there.

Hope all is well!

December 12 – Just Relaxing

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 12 - 2009

The last couple days have been very relaxing. Coached all day Thursday (“all day” just means 3 sessions, lol), then headed down to Boston to hang out with Carrie. Actually got to watch “The Office” live for the first time in maybe a year…which was a nice change of pace. Left in the morning when she left for work (waking up at 6a = the suck) and drove out to meet my sister for breakfast. Nice to catch up with her as I hadn’t seen her in quite some time. Headed back up to NH after that, just missed morning traffic, and got back in time for 2 more hours of coaching.

Friday night my Uncle and cousin came up for the lakehouse Xmas party. I ended up buying some Vegas stuff right before I flew out (a sweet Vegas pillow, some shot glasses, and some decks of cards) that were big hits at the yankee swap. Did dinner with everyone (I think about 25 ppl) at a place called “Canoe” which was awesome. Had lobster ravioli, lobster mashed potatoes, and clam chowder…soooooo good to be having real seafood again =) I ended up getting a set of Jim Beam cooking marinades from the swap, which should come in handy for sure.

saucesldo

Woke up this morning, played some video games with my cousin, and then ate breakfast. Bummed around for the rest of the morning catching up on all the TV I’ve missed this week due to either traveling or working. Just put in a couple sessions and now I’m going to finish my COTW article. Kind of a lame Saturday night, but w/e. I’m exaughsted anyway so the laid back relaxing is exactly what I need. Fingers crossed I finish the article up tonight because I have 3 hours of coaching tomorrow and hate writing after that much poker concentration in one day.

Hope all is well!

December 9 – In NH

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 9 - 2009

The trip here was a total mess, lol. I ended up getting stopped and patted down in security at the airport over 1/2 a tube of tooth paste. The lady who did it took my tooth paste and asked me if I wanted to mail it to myself…I literally LOL’d and walked away (wtf? am I poor or something? Can I not afford a $2 tube of tooth paste?!). Had a rough time on the plane as I almost passed out on the first leg of the trip due to mistakingly being given a window seat (I have claustrophobia)…luckily managed to fall asleep ASAP and slept until Houston. Luckboxed my way to no seat mates on the second leg, and made it to Boston no issue.

Saw Carrie that night, then took the T to see my mom in the morning. Picked up the backup car, then drove up to NH to see my dad. It sucks because the backup car doesn’t let you play burned CDs in it, so I had to listen to the only CD in there, some old RHCP disc which got super boring after 1 spin. O well. Made it up to NH with no issues and just chilled the first night. I will say that I’ve only known this house as the “lake house”….so having internet and TVs in it is a whole new experience…but necessary.

This morning I woke up and it was snowing. I should have taken some pictures earlier, but I totally forgot. I think we ended up getting about 8 inches give or take. I had students at 5 and 9 but also had no external monitor. So I took a ride over to the nearest Wallyworld to grab a monitor (biggest one they had (and I bought) was 22″…boo that noise). I’ll just return it when I’m done as I hope to never use a monitor this small, with this bad of resolution, again, lol. But it will be a life saver for the next month to have an external monitor to do videos, playing, and coaching on.

Not sure what I am up to tomorrow. I know I have 3 hours of coaching, and then I think I’m going down to Boston again. Lots of driving this trip, but O well. Hope all is well everyone…

December 7 – Live + Life

Posted by SplitSuit On December - 7 - 2009

So the last few days kind of escaped me a little bit, my bad. The end of the week was good. Had quite a few students reschedule though, so my originally booked up (“booked up” for me is 3 students/day) weekend was pretty light. I was feeling a little restless on Friday and decided I would go play live. Just wanted to get out of the house and my plans to go out with some friends bounced…so “work” it was.

Played over at the Venetian. I haven’t played live in Vegas in quite some time so it was odd to see how dead the games are (winter is slow season here, so it’s not surprising). Got a meh table to begin, but figured I would give it a little bit to see if the game opened up…and before you know it 2 nits left and some dumbasses sat in. Lovely =)

V poker room

Game was standard LOLlive. Didn’t run particularly great (had AJ on a Js2s4d board lose to 76ss hitting 7 6 out the backdoor…flopped quads in a spot where I was never getting paid…and flopped top boat in a similar situation). Last hand of the night I called an EP raise with 77 OTB, and see a 3way flop with the BB of Qs 7s 8c. BB donks $25 into $35, OR calls, and I raise to $73…just BB calls (leaving himself $130 back). Turn is the Js, he checks, I ship, he snaps with AdQs, river is a spade and it all starts feeling more like live play again. I will say I felt as though I played pretty lights out. Actually raised from the BB with AK and see a 3way flop as MitM of AQ5 and I don’t put in a single chip against AQ…ninja hand reading ftw.

Also got my Stox video, which will be out next week (same day that my COTW on LAG play comes out). It took me about 10.5hrs to make it (including scripting and everything). It is short, but super visual and should be very educational and visually stimulating at the same time. Hopefully yall enjoy it.

I also went out frisbee golfing today with Jon. Good time, although damn freezing outside (only 50*F, which feels like you are going to die of hypothermia). Actually only went 4 over par on an 18 hole course, which, for my first time playing in over 2 years, I will take =). Did lunch after, played some pool, then came home and got all my laundry and packing done. Now I am at the airport, just waiting for my plane. Hope all is well with everyone!
