Have you ever had a week where pretty much everything clicked and things just happened…and happened well? That was this week. I got two full videos recorded and edited, got some prep work done, started doing some good stuff with GP, and went out on a couple dates with an awesome girl. I also got 90% of my week’s to-do list done…which is impressive considering some of it is out of my control. So all in all, best week in what seems like a massively long time.

I’m very happy thus far with my time over at PokerBank. I have released 13 videos thus far and have 2 more in the pipe (CBing and Baby Pairs), and all seem to be getting received very well. I am also taking hands if you want me to do an INVERSE style HH review with your hands. This is a great way to get some hands analyzed for free, and of course I will ensure your screen name is protected. I just like doing HH reviews with hands that I have no bias at all in…it keeps them interesting =) So if you have like 5-10 hands (raw HHs from FTP or PS please!) just ship them over to splitsuit[@]gmail.com .

I am also looking forward to vacation. I am going to spend a few days out in Chicago and then bounce out to Boston to hang out with some friends and family. If there were a time when writing this 2nd book would really happen…that is it, lol. I just got a fresh bottle of Addy from the doc so I am heavily debating just shutting myself in a room for 7hrs per day and cranking it out. I have a lot of ideas for it, and think it could be really awesome to just have done. But alas, I really would need to put my discipline pants on.

Everything else is going well. The dating thing has been really nice as well. I haven’t done a tremendous amount of dating over the last few years given my work schedule…but it’s nice to be finding a healthier balance in work and life. We’ll see what arises from it…but I expect everything will be positive =) And on that note, I am going to chill for a little bit before heading down to Cosmo to grab some pizza from a literal hole in the wall. Hope all is well!

This week really got away from me. I guess I’ll start from the beginning and go from there. On Monday I didn’t do too much during the day. At night I grabbed sushi (Sen) with a girl I met playing poker. Never had that much social interaction with a female poker player before…was a cool experience to say the least to see how a female perceives things. After that I headed down to the strip to meet up with ForGlory who was in town for a few days. Played a lil live at the V and just shot the shit. Ended up booking a small profit, which was nice for the ol mental.

Tuesday I met up with a student and some of his friends that were in from the UK. Grabbed sushi was well (Naked Fish), and just rambled on about poker the whole time. After that we headed over to the V to play a lil bit. I ran kinda shit, took an odd spot, and to top it all off it wasn’t a great table (but I stayed on it because my student was there as well. So here is the odd spot, which I still kinda like. My student open limps from HJ ($300), the CO calls (who is a mega-fish idiot box that has $600), the SB completes and I check my BB with Kh7h. The flop comes KT3r. I lead $8 into $8 and my student calls along with the CO. The turn is the 6 and I lead $22 into $32. Both call again. The river is a rainbow 9 and I check. My student bets $34 and the CO looks like he is in a lot of pain and calls. I check/raise up to $107. Now, this is a play that is for value against the CO, but a bluff against my student. I actually thought my student would fold anything but the straight here…as I really “can’t be bluffing” given the fact that I am check/raising the fish. My student told me after that he would have…but of course I ran into the nuts and had to fold against his shove. Also, QJ should make up like no part of his range given PF…but that is another story lol

On Wednesday I sat down to the record a video and got mega-life tilted that the recording audio was pretty shit. So I decided to totally reformat the computer and just start over. I did end up losing some stuff that I wanted (that I forgot to back up between Sunday and Wednesday)…but o well. It’s nice to have a working computer again! Thursday was a rough day for me as it was the 4yr aniversary of my brother’s passing…so I took the day easy and just ran some errands and watched the movie “Twelve”…good flick…but not the right flick for the day lol. And Friday was spent recording 2 videos and getting some GP work done.

So I actually decided to play some poker this weekend. I went down to the Mirage at 8 on Friday (and I only went to the Mirage because I had some left over chips that I wanted to cash out) and got started. The game was pretty perfect considering it would swong from really nitty to really splashy. There was rarely anything in the middle imo. It was nice to get some grinding in, though not as nice that my Adderall was still kicking in and I had a massive headache. O well

As usual I ran pretty shit. Only flopped one set the whole night on a KQ3 board, and with two callers to my flop bet and a Q on the turn I got no action (wtf?). Got zero action with AA the one time I had it. Had QQ in a 6 way limped pot in the SB with a relatively aggro BB so I completed and whiffed the megabackraise. Lead a J73 flop, got 1 caller. Lead a T turn and he called. Lead a Q river and got minraised…of course I run into AK (again, wtf?). I hit about zero top pairs which was fun, and went 0/7 on draws. I 3bet an MP open IP with T2ss and just the opener calls. Flop is Js9s8c and he c/c. Turn is a 2x and I overbet shove for the win (he folded QQ and I giggled as I showed the 2). And to wrap up the night I raise to $8 with QQ from MP, get 3bet to $20 from the table moron (same guy from the QQvAK hand). I 4bet to $93 for value and snap his shove. End up losing a ~300bb pot vs AQ. If I ever run good…*sigh*

Only fun hand was one where I 3bet this girl without looking at my cards and she folded saying she would pay me $5 if I showed her a 3. The first card I pipped was a 3 and I was $5 richer =) She ended up being pretty chill…which is always rare to find at the poker tables imo. Ended up getting out of that session at about 5a…so my sleep schedule has been fucked all weekend.

The rest of the weekend was fine. Just chilled, ate food, and made playlists for GP. I am starting to add some non-music playlists just to see how they are received. I figure that because it is a playground that I might as well use it as such. And who knows…maybe GP eventually becomes an entertainment tube. We shall see. And on that note, I am going to go relax and play some Halo. Hope all is well!

I hate getting older. I turned 25 a few days back, and while I don’t feel much older, it’s kind of a shock when I think about where the last 4 years have gone. It’s that weird feeling like so much has happened, but at the same time it’s a fucking blur. I didn’t do too much for my birthday. I actually spent about 4hrs on the phone with microsoft support, another 2hrs with friends/family on the phone, and after waking up at noon I had very little time left, lol. I did go out and grab some dinner, but after drinking a lot during the week, I took the night relatively easy.

The last week was pretty solid. Went to the “Bluff” party on Wednesday which was over at Sapphires (the strip club). Good time for sure, even though the vibe is always odd when you take a massive group of usually socially awkward people and throw strippers into the mix. The next night was the 2p2 party over at Wynn which was a good time. It took me some time to finally get on a table and they were the only table in the room playing NL. It took me another 30minutes to even get the table playing 1/2 NL, 1/2 PLO. New rule…don’t come to a 2p2 party if you don’t want to play retarded games that you only place once a year (like reverse holdem, 5 card PLO8, triple board games, etc.). Ended up losing a little bit…but only because top set in PLO is never good.

I am still having computer issues as well. The whole initial problem was with my Silverlight (which fucks up my ability to answer hotmail emails and watch Netflix vids). After 14hrs of microsoft support doing everything they could think of, they reinstalled my Windows 7 system files. Which would have been great, except that it didn’t fix the issue AND destroyed my Camtasia. Wonderful! They want to do a full system reinstall on Thursday…and I’m debating if I want to do that. I probably will…but there is nothing worse than taking a full day off to get your computer back to normal. *sigh* If only I could ever run good with computers…

And on that note, I am going to go relax for a bit. I did a lot of recording and writing this morning, so I am pretty wiped. Oh, and Greatest Playlist is doing well…I have a few number one spots on google, and have some fun ideas moving forward. A very fun project still =) Hope all is well!

Happy day after the 4th. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the long weekend, the BBQs, the drinking, and the fireworks. I am pretty damn tired right now, but I wanted to get a blog post up before I went another few days without a post. I was out late last night hanging out with Equus and #1 Thunderfan (and their girls)…and had to be up early to get work done. Needless to say I need a nap…

So I lost my job last week. Business was down a little bit and as LIFO goes, I went. I am debating what I want to do right now. I have a month long vacation through pretty much all of August…which makes things a little tricky. It would be really tough to get a job in the meantime that would 1.) hire me knowing I am going to be gone for a full month and 2.) allow me to telecommute for a month in the early stages of working. O well…I’m not really worried about it. I think I might actually spend a lot of this time writing my next book (possibly two), coaching, and just enjoying life a little more.

I am also working hard on GP. The site is growing slowly but surely, and I had some sickO traffic yesterday thanks to a random stumbleupon surge. Social bookmarking can be so random like that. I am formulating some ideas on the site right now. I think I have an idea for monetization (as I’ve fully stripped all the ads in the sidebars)…but I need to get to work creating something for it. Maybe if I have some free time in the upcoming weeks I’ll build everything. It’s just one of those “sit down for 20hrs straight and hammer it out”.
