Beware he rake!
In trading systems you are constantly exposing yourself to rake i.e. the commission of brokers.
Within any investment decision - you should be using a comparative model to decide whether you should employ you capital or not. Clearly the potential rewards is the most obvious criteria however the most applicable is to account for the encumbent risks.
Given your age/background - it is true that you should be willing to accept a greater level of risk than would otherwise be true of different demographies but given your novice level understanding of trading I would suggest that there would be likely be larger than usual execution risks.
I do not know the person but one person you perhaps should PM is ZepHendrix who works in the financial markets - perhaps if approached he might give some useful advice.

Good to hear about coaching going well.

Do not be so hard on your self - image. You are the one person who always listens to yourself. Give the old boy a break from it once in awhile.

LOL @ stealing R-balls! I used to purchase them by the case lot and it wasn't unusual to break 4-5 off the sidewall with a vicious forehand SPLAT!!!! If they didn't bust during play, we either left them or tossed them to kids on the way out. I haven't played in years and still have a number of unopened cans downstairs along with a racquet stringer.

R-ball is one of the best hyper-competitive sports around. Nothing more fun to play in, or watch, then 4 alpha males flying, diving, screaming, cursing and competing in a calf-bruising contest, otherwise known as a doubles match! Not much room to maneuver in there!

Go buy some balls!
